AI assistants can now check your open times
Nga the hey.booked team
A growing number of clients skip the search page. They open ChatGPT or Claude and type something like "nail appointment near me on Friday afternoon", and they book wherever the answer points. Until now, the best an assistant could do was mention a business and hope the link still worked. It could not tell anyone whether you actually had a free slot.
That changes today. Every public hey.booked page can now be read by AI assistants: your services, the days you have openings, the exact open times, and the link where the client books. The assistant answers with "Studio Mira has 14:00 and 15:30 free on Friday, book here", and the client lands on your page with the time already in mind.
What you need to do
Nothing. It works for every public page on every plan, free included. Your page already had the information a client needs; we published it in the formats assistants read, and told them where to find it.
- Private pages stay invisible. An assistant can only see a page your clients could already open.
- If your page is paused, or you have used this month's bookings, the assistant is told you are not taking online bookings right now, so it never offers a time you cannot take.
- Your services and open times update the moment you change them. There is nothing to sync.
What an assistant can and can't do
The connection is read-only, on purpose. An assistant can:
- List your services, with how long each one takes.
- Find the days with open times, up to your booking window.
- List the open times on a day, for anyone on your team or one person in particular.
- Hand the client your booking link.
It cannot book, cancel, or move an appointment, and it never sees your clients, their details, your notes, or your bookings. The client always confirms on your page, exactly as if they had found the link themselves. Your calendar stays yours.
Add hey.booked to your own AI assistant
Assistants that support the Model Context Protocol (MCP) can connect to hey.booked directly, so you can ask about any hey.booked business in plain language. It needs no account and no key. This is the address:
https://heybooked.com/mcpMenu names move around between versions, so if a step below does not match what you see, look for "custom connector" or "MCP server" in your assistant's settings or help center.
Claude (web and desktop app)
- Open Settings, then Connectors.
- Choose Add custom connector.
- Name it hey.booked, paste the address above, and save. It needs no sign-in.
- In a new chat, switch the hey.booked connector on from the + menu.
Custom connectors are in beta on Claude, and the free plan allows one. See Anthropic's guide to custom connectors for the current steps.
ChatGPT
- Open Settings, then Apps and Connectors, then Advanced, and turn on Developer mode.
- Create a new connector, name it hey.booked, and paste the address above.
- Set authentication to none, then save.
- Start a chat and pick the hey.booked connector from the tools menu.
Developer mode is available on paid ChatGPT plans, and workspace admins may need to allow it first.
Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http heybooked https://heybooked.com/mcpCursor, VS Code, and Gemini CLI
These read MCP servers from a settings file. Add hey.booked to the one your tool uses:
{
"mcpServers": {
"heybooked": { "url": "https://heybooked.com/mcp" }
}
}{
"servers": {
"heybooked": { "type": "http", "url": "https://heybooked.com/mcp" }
}
}{
"mcpServers": {
"heybooked": { "httpUrl": "https://heybooked.com/mcp" }
}
}What to ask
The assistant finds a business by the name in its link, so use the part after heybooked.com/b/. A few that work well:
- "What services does studio-mira offer, and how long is each one?"
- "Which days next week does studio-mira have openings for a gel manicure?"
- "What times are free on Friday afternoon? I can do anything after 2pm."
- "Is Ana at studio-mira free on Saturday morning?"
Every answer ends with the booking link, so you go from question to confirmed appointment in one step.
For developers
The same reads are a plain JSON API, with no key. The contract is at heybooked.com/openapi.json and the guide at heybooked.com/developers.md. It is rate-limited per IP and read-only, like the MCP server.
Getting found by AI starts with being worth recommending - here is how to become the answer when clients ask. Being bookable from inside the answer is the step after that, and your page now takes it on its own.
- Does this cost anything?
- No. It is part of every hey.booked page, on every plan, including free. Connecting hey.booked to your own assistant is free too.
- Can an AI assistant book an appointment for me?
- No. Assistants can look up services and open times and give you the booking link, but the booking itself always happens on the business's page, where you confirm the time.
- Can an assistant see my clients or bookings?
- No. It only sees what your public page shows: your services, your team's names and titles, and which times are open. Client names, contact details, notes, and existing bookings are never shared.
- How do I stop assistants from seeing my page?
- Assistants see exactly what anyone with your link sees. Making your page private hides it from both, and switching it back to public brings it back for both.
- Do I need an account to connect hey.booked to my assistant?
- No. The hey.booked MCP server needs no account, sign-in, or key. Paste the address into your assistant and it works.
Start a free hey.booked page, and let clients find your open times wherever they ask.
